The Importance of Being Pelham
Pelham & Blandings Book 2
How could things have ever come to this? Pelham G. Totleigh, the hapless hero of The Importance of Being Pelham, was given what was supposed to be a simple mission. His Aunt Agutha, the governor of the Sonus moon colony, sent him back to the Haplor home world to have an ore sample analyzed, a sample crucial to the future of their terraforming settlement. But when Pelham loses the sample, he can only imagine what Aunt Agutha will say … or yell. Meanwhile, Pelham’s friend Binky has problems of his own and asks for his help. All Pelham has to do is impersonate Binky during an interview with a journalist. But things soon spin hilariously out of control. Relying on his faithful valet Blandings for support, guidance, and the occasional excellent cup of tea, Pelham must recover the ore sample, solve a riddle, find a valuable piece of jewelry, face off against monstrous velocichickens, and navigate a cast of quirky characters. And are any of them really who they say they are?
"I loved this one — great story!"
"Very reminiscent of P.G. Wodehouse, one of my favorite authors but has that extra intergalactic spice to it."
